Create A 3D Product Model With Feature Hotspots

🎯 Create a 3D Product Model With Feature Hotspots

In MarTech3D | Engine, you can transform your product into an interactive 3D model complete with feature hotspots. These hotspots help highlight key product features and can be styled to match your brand.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating a 3D product model and adding customisable hotspots.

✅ Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Product

  • Go to the Products section in MarTech3D | Engine.
  • On the product tile, click the ‘i’ button to open product management.

2. Set the Initial View of the 3D Model

  • Click “Position Model” to begin setting the default view.
  • Rotate, pan, or zoom in/out on your 3D model to frame it as you'd like it to appear when first viewed.
  • Click Save once you’re happy with the angle and zoom.

💡 Tip: The saved position will be used as the default view for users and shared experiences.

3. Add a Hotspot

  • Click “Add Hotspot” to begin placing a new hotspot.
  • Click directly on the 3D model where you want the hotspot to appear.
  • Enter a label (e.g. “Touchscreen Interface”, “Cooling System”) — this is the text that will appear when users interact with the hotspot.

4. Style Your Hotspot

  • Click “Show Styling Options” to customise the appearance:
    • Dot Border Colour
    • Dot Fill Colour
    • Label Border Colour
    • Label Fill Colour
    • Label Text Colour

🎨 These options allow you to match your branding or highlight specific features more clearly.

5. Create the Hotspot

  • Click “Add Hotspot” to place and save it on the model.

6. Test Your Hotspot

  • Click on the newly placed hotspot to view the label and styling in action.
  • Click the hotspot again to close the label.

7. Save Your Changes

  • Once you’ve positioned and styled all your hotspots, click “Save” to apply all updates.

8. Repeat for Additional Hotspots

  • You can add as many hotspots as needed to cover important product features.
