What 3D file types can be used in Martech3D | Engine?

MarTech3D | Engine uses GLB as its core 3D file format.

GLB files are lightweight, web-optimised and widely supported, making them ideal for interactive 3D models, product visualisation, augmented reality and online applications.

You do not need to convert your existing CAD or 3D files before uploading them. MarTech3D | Engine automatically processes supported files into optimised GLB models, using automation and AI-assisted technology, followed by an expert human quality check.

✅ Common 3D File Types We Support

Supported 3D file types include:

  • OBJ
  • FBX
  • ICP
  • STL
  • STEP / STP
  • IFC
  • IGES / IGS
  • GLB

⚙️ Engineering and CAD Files

We also support files created using major engineering and CAD platforms, including:

  • Autodesk Inventor, including IPT and IAM files
  • SolidWorks, including SLDPRT and SLDASM files
  • CATIA
  • Siemens NX
  • Creo / Pro-E
  • Revit, including RVT files
  • And many more

💡 Tip: When possible, upload the original CAD assembly rather than exporting it into another format first. This helps retain the product structure and part information used by features such as the Part Viewer.

🔄 How CAD Processing Works

1. Upload your files

Upload your existing CAD or 3D files directly to your Product Library.

You can upload an individual product or use Bulk Upload to add multiple products at once.

2. Automated processing begins

MarTech3D | Engine automatically processes the files and converts them into lightweight, web-ready GLB models.

Automation and AI-assisted processing are used to prepare and optimise the model while retaining the original product geometry and structure.

3. Expert quality check

An expert member of our team reviews the processed model to check its quality and identify any issues that require attention.

4. Use your product model

Once processing is complete, the product will be available in your Product Library for use across your 3D applications, virtual showrooms, augmented reality experiences and product image renders.

📦 What Happens When You Upload a GLB File?

GLB files do not need to go through CAD conversion.

Once uploaded, they will automatically be available to open and view in MarTech3D | Engine.
