When rendering assets in MarTech3D | Engine (Asset Creator), you can choose from a range of predefined lighting setups and background options to ensure a consistent, high-quality visual style across all your renders.
These configurations control how your 3D models are illuminated, angled, and presented — helping maintain professional standards for both marketing and technical use.
Standard Render Setups
By default, all accounts include a selection of core render configurations designed for versatility and simplicity.
These include:
- Transparent background – ideal for product cut-outs and layered compositions
- White background – clean and neutral for catalogues, websites, and datasheets
- Dark background – dramatic and high-contrast for premium product lines
Each setup has its own lighting balance, reflections, and shadow levels optimised for clarity and realism.

Custom Lighting and Camera Configurations
Most customers require additional render setups beyond the standard presets — especially to match existing photography or legacy render libraries.
As part of your onboarding process, we can create custom render configurations tailored to your brand.
These can include:
- Bespoke lighting conditions (e.g. directional, softbox, or high-contrast)
- Fixed camera angles to align with previous render sets
- Adjusted reflections, shadows, or environmental tones
Custom configurations are a paid extra, set up during onboarding or available later on request.

Selecting a Render Setup
At the point of rendering, simply select the configuration you want from the available list.
The system automatically applies all associated settings — lighting, camera, shadows, and environment — so your output is consistent and ready to use immediately.
If you have both standard and custom configurations, your bespoke options will appear alongside the defaults in the render setup dropdown.
